In addition to the injury concerns, there's always been question marks over Batista's actual in ring skills. Stamina and agility are the main areas of suspicion, with so much size and bulk limiting his range at times. Worryingly, in Batista's ring work so far since coming back, he has looked way off the mark. His return on Raw was a clumsy affair, awkwardly taking down Del Rio before dropping a powerless Batista Bomb. It was far removed from the emphatic Batista power of old. The Rumble then fully exposed just how much Batista's power had diminished. He looked considerably slower, showing all the signs of his 45 year age. The time spent in the Rumble ultimately made him look bad. Perhaps though we should give Batista the benefit of doubt. Many performers display ring rust in their first action back, although it should be worth noting Brock Lesnar never displayed staleness. With first impressions sticking, many fans may now be set in the way of thinking that 45 year old Batista is past it.
