Whether it is because the product is always now aimed at the younger audience rather than aiming more content towards the elder audiences, or even when we see superstars such as John Cena and Ryback continually main eventing on various shows, the cynical fan will have no interest in the match whatsoever because the fan may not be able to stand one or perhaps even both of the competitors in the match. However, this is a lot different when The SHIELD make their way down to the ring or even compete in a match; the cynical fans are made happy because they witness The SHIELD rush down from the crowd and proceed to unleash hell on their victims, whoever it may be, so whenever we see guys like John Cena being taken out by The SHIELD; we cannot help but enjoy it because the hero has been taken out; whereas if it was John Cena coming down to attack one or all three of the members, John Cena would still get a negative reaction from most of the audience as they have to sit through the same thing over and over again and always watch the protagonist win, however now with The SHIELD; it has become rare that we see many positive reactions for the supposed antagonists, or I guess that just means we have a lot of cynical WWE fans who cannot handle John Cena? Either way, the fact that they manage to get some sort of reaction is a big plus and will favour them in many ways down the line, even if it is from the cynics.
