Should we expect humility from someone who used that as their catchphrase for a decade? One probably would not. Hart speaks with the candor of someone who was exceptional at their craft, but feels underappreciated because of the status of his peers. (Hogan, Michaels etc.) Having read his autobiography that I shamelessly reference stories from, I understand his perspective. Hart is most critical of Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Triple H. He says Hogan had zero to offer young talent about getting themselves over, as Hogan according to Bret, could only get himself over. Eric Bischoff is basically branded as Hogan€™s lackey with ZERO knowledge of anything. While those comments are enough to cause a rumble, what he€™s said about HHH could cause an earthquake. Bret claims HHH is a good worker, but has never had a classic match or contributed anything great to wrestling. €œHow great really is he?€ €œWhat is he innovating?€ He also famously invented the 4/10 rating, when discussing the end of an era match between Undertaker and HHH. That 4/10 rating has since become a running joke and meme in the wild world of wrestling on the internet. Bret claims that the new generation of stars is heavily influenced by the type of wrestling him and Shawn Michaels popularized in the 1990€™s. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are praised regularly by him. Bret has been in the wrestling business since the late 1970€™s and has crossed paths with just about everyone. He is thoughtful with his words, and can back up anything he says with his own logic.
