WWE: 9 Most Out Of Shape Wrestlers In History

2. Rikishi

Rikishi Another member of the famous Anoa'i wrestling family, Rikishi was a very popular figure during the World Wrestling Federation's Attitude Era. Weighing in excess of 400 pounds, Rikishi wore a sumo-like thong to accentuate his huge posterior. Any victim Rikishi's Stinkface finisher would undoubtedly have nightmares for years to come. Rikishi started as Samu in Jim Crockett Promotions and the WWF. In JCP, Rikishi was part of the Samoan Swat Team, Paul Heyman's replacement team for the departed Original Midnight Express. They even competed at the 1989 Great American Bash, losing War Games to Steve Williams, the Midnight Express, and the Road Warriors. He joined the WWF in 1992 and the team was renamed the Headshrinkers, capturing the WWF tag team titles. After the team broke up, Rikishi received a number of lame gimmicks like Makin' A Difference Fatu and the Sultan before being sent to Dory Funk's wrestling school to train. He made his return in November 1999 and the wrestling world was shocked at how much weight he had gained during his time off. He became a fixture with the tag team of Too Cool and enjoyed an upper card babyface run with the team. The WWF tried to turn him heel and make him into a main event guy but the audience wasn't buying it and a shoulder injury caused him to miss the Invasion angle of 2001. After kicking around the mid-card for a few years, Rikishi's time with the WWF was ended and he remains active on the indy circuit today. Rikishi shows no sign of losing any of the weight that made him famous but, thankfully, the thong seems to have been retired.
