WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 23)

5. Leftover Slam

So Cesaro and Kevin Owens have a singles match set for SummerSlam. How does WWE get us psyched for it? They give us those two going at it in a tag match on Raw. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose are tagging against The Wyatt Family, and we€™re given Roman vs. Harper in a singles match and the good guy won cleanly. So here€™s a thought, why is it that the SummerSlam match is the one that matters? Roman proved he€™s better than one of his opponents, so let€™s move on! The bigger question is why do we have to watch every possible variation of the SummerSlam matches before they happen? It makes the pay-per-view just feel like a slightly bigger edition of Raw. This week we saw Becky Lynch vs. Tamina, Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch vs. Brie Bella, Los Matadores vs. New Day, multiple eight man tag matches, Ryback vs. Miz, Ryback vs. Big Show, oh, and Dolph Ziggler already beating up Rusev. Only Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Stephen Amell haven€™t fought in some sort of variation of their matches this month. The final go-home match on SmackDown was the good guys beating the bad guys. Cool. Their Slam matches are now pointless too. No reason for ANY good guy to get revenge. Go away SummerSlam, you don€™t know what you€™re doing anymore.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
