On SmackDown, the announcers hyped Roman Reigns battling the League of Nations in a 4-on-1 handicap match. However, they treated it as if it was a straight up singles match. None of them expressed outrage, or talked about how unfair it was, making it feel like it was business as usual. If theyre going to book a match like this, then make it seem like The Authority is doing it to punish Roman, and there's no possible way he can win. And when he gets to the Rumble, he'll be so beaten down that he'll be easy prey. It's the ultimate injustice delivered from Hunter and Steph. But matches aren't treated as anything physically demanding in WWE, even if it involves being greatly outnumbered. Booking these non-stop handicap matches is so completely counter-productive, and terrible for the near-term future. WWE has so few credible heels, and because of that Roman will likely be wrestling everyone in the League of Nations one-on-one over the next few weeks. But having him hold his own against four guys will make that feel pointless, and make people change the channel.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
