WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 19)
5. TNA vs. Lucha Underground
Believe it or not, TNA is a bit of a mess right now. This week, they lost another member of the Beat Down Clan, which seems to be the stable where wrestlers careers go to die (in TNA at least). Homicide, Samoa Joe and Low Ki were all former members of the group who quickly found their way out of the company, and now the newest recruit, Hernandez, is gone too. It hasnt been this hard to follow who the members of a stable are since the NWO Black and White and Red and Black joined forces. Was Lex Luger in that? Disco Inferno? It was a curious situation seeing Hernandez back in the company in the first place. After his initial release, he was quite vocal about how his run ended. But due to a friendship with MVP, he returned as the enforcer of his stable. The problem is, he was under contract to Lucha Underground! Either he didnt know the terms of his contract, or he was led to believe that he was free to wrestle elsewhere, or TNA management didnt bother to check into his availability. Either way, this is a big, embarrassing mess. Not only is a wrestler gone, but its affected the logic of Impact, since they can no longer use footage with Hernandez. A match with Kenny King and Hernandez taking on The Wolves was edited out of the show this past week completely and replaced with...James Storm vs. Magnus from Slammiversary? It wasnt the full match either, just a few minutes worth. It was completely out of nowhere, made no sense and featured two guys who have already left the company! The final year of WCW looked like a well-oiled machine compared to what is going on in this company.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
