WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (June 21)

2. So Long Gunner

Well, Gunner is gone from the wrestling promotion known as Total Nonstop Action. €œWho?€ You may be wondering. You know, he€™s that one guy who debuted as one half of the blandest tag team name ever in Gunner and Murphy, then received a mega push in 2011 and beat Sting, then was pushed back down the card again, later rescued Sam Shaw from a mental asylum, and then just kind of disappeared. Gunner probably didn€™t have the skills of being a top star, but he was dreadfully misused. He had a compelling real-life background as a gunner in the Iraq war, and had a great look, with some brawling ability, but was a victim of stop-and-start pushes, and lousy storylines. This isn€™t the biggest loss in TNA history, but he had some potential that was never tapped into. In ECW in 1997 Paul Heyman could have probably got Gunner over. In TNA from 2010 through 2015, Gunner didn't stand much of a chance.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
