WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (May 22)

3. His Name Is Earl

On TNA Impact, Mike Bennett wanted to beat up a TNA Hall of Famer. And who wouldn't? But since all four actual wrestlers who have been inducted into their hall of fame have left the company, that left Earl Hebner to face his wrath. Bennett also pointed out that everyone else is gone, which probably wasnt a great idea.

Anyway, he called another ref out to the ring to officiate their match and one actually came out! They were for some reason open to reffing a match where one of the competitors had a decent chance of dying. Earl eventually slapped Bennett with one of the weakest slaps in the history of the business, and then they started a match.

Bennet knocked out the senior citizen with one punch, but then he kicked out. Bennett retaliated with a kick to the face, and only post-match, when he was gearing up for a piledriver did someone finally come out. Not one single babyface had a problem with this for the previous five minutes?

An easy fix for this would be for Mike Bennett to call Earl out and beat him up for a few moments until EC III ran out for the save. That way you don't have to go through the absurdity of a heel declaring a match against whoever he wants and it becoming official.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
