Besides Stephanie McMahon and HHH turning heel to babyface and back again whenever they feel like it, perhaps nothing in WWE is more annoying than never-ending rematches that arent even presented as rematches. On SmackDown last week, Alberto Del Rio wrestled R-Truth. Because after wrestling on Sunday and twice on Monday, that apparently wasnt enough for their returning star. Well, on the B-show, believe it or not, he beat Truth. End of story. Nope! Because that was SmackDown, and like 30% less people watch that show than Raw, which means a couple hundred thousand people didnt see that match, so lets just do it again! On SmackDown, Del Rio won in 90 seconds. So clearly, the contest was so close a rematch was needed. Except it wasnt treated as a rematch, just done again. On Raw, he beat him in under three-and-a-half minutes. Because that extra two minutes is called time-filler. Has the Main Event crowd seen this match yet? Might as well book it again.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
