Despite getting engaged, and mercifully finding a way out of the Summer Rae angle, Rusev has had a rough week. So lets just take it easy on him. Now, think back a little bit. Believe it or not, he was in a big match at WrestleMania 31, facing off against the top babyface in the company of the past decade. He rode in on a freaking tank! It feels like years ago. We all lamented last year how quickly Bray Wyatt fell after his Cena feud post-Mania 30, but thats absolutely nothing compared to what Rusev is going through. On Raw, the former unstoppable US Champ jobbed to Ryback clean in three minutes. Was Zack Ryder too busy on Monday to take that spot? On SmackDown, Rusev suffered through another loss to Ziggler, and was made to look even more like a fool. What exactly are they doing with his character? Now that hes likely to be paired again with Lana, its time to take him in a new direction and give him some momentum, instead hes sinking. It makes no sense. So few wrestlers on the roster are actually over, and theres already enough jobbers. How long now before he turns into the new Kozlov, and teams up with Santino? It cant be that far off.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
