WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Sept 13)

4. The Present Of Boring

Continuing on our theme of repetition this week, no one should have to carry a wrestling show the way that Seth Rollins is being asked to right now. Not since CM Punk was the heel champion, cutting 20 minute promos every time out, has one wrestler been as over-relied on as Seth. As good as he€™s been, he€™s not going to be a true top star if all of his segments are simply used to fill time on three hour shows. On Raw alone, Seth was asked to once again open the show with a lengthy promo. The crowd is getting really tired of having to watch those. Then he was asked to compete in not one, but two matches in one night. One of them went nearly 18 minutes against a man who is best used in short matches. Part of the reason people are feeling Rollins fatigue is because of how poorly he€™s been used. He may be a champ, but he€™s booked like a mid-card whiner. What was the point of having him lose on Raw? To show that Sting is under his skin? If that was the case, then why bother having him lose to Ryback? He€™s the Intercontinental Champion, so you think they€™d want to protect him, but Seth got his win back on SmackDown, so Ryback is right back to where he was before pinning the champ. They might as well have picked Zack Ryder for that spot if that was the plan. So in one show, Steph, Hunter, Ryback and Sting all got to act like they€™re better than Seth. It€™s no wonder that the crowd has resorted to giving him the €œboring€ treatment.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
