During her time working across both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, Becky Lynch was never given a run with the WWE Women's Title. Back at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January, she did produce an under-rated match with Charlotte, and was one third of the magic created in a Triple Threat stunner come WrestleMania 32.

Too often though, it seemed that Lynch was being overlooked in favour of others. A true workhorse, she also has a connection with the live audience that beams directly back to the viewer watching at home. That's something to be encouraged, Becky is one of the absolute best and most fiery performers - male or female - on the main roster.

At Backlash, she was finally handed the chance to be called champion. Winning the SmackDown Women's Title, Lynch will now forever be known as the first to hold that belt. It would have been easy to book a Nikki Bella win, or even a curveball Carmella one, but the creative team stood firm and gave Becky Lynch what she had earned for months.
