WWE Backlash 2016: 10 Things You Might Have Missed

7. Shane McMahon's Odd Choice Of Waistcoat

Admittedly, it is pretty picky to point out what characters on WWE programming wear, but it's nonetheless interesting in this example. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan were there to kick off the actual pay-per-view portion of Backlash, coming out to pop the live crowd and introduce the SmackDown Women's Title match.

Shane was out first, and it was almost strange to see his choice of clothing for the first ever SmackDown Live-only supershow. Dancing to the ring, McMahon was wearing a black-fronted waistcoat. When the camera caught the back of his outfit however, it was striking to see a flash of red. Of course, that's the core colour of Monday Night Raw, SmackDown's main competition.

This could have been complete coincidence, maybe Shane didn't really think too much about what he was wearing for the show. Still, in an era when the leaders of each brand are so outspoken about their rivals on the other show, wearing red on the first blue brand pay-per-view felt a little quirky.

Blue would have been much more appropriate, even though it would also have been viewed as pandering.
