WWE: Christian's 6 Biggest Career Milestones

3. WrestleMania XX: Defeating Chris Jericho

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lElawmFlIes In 2004, at the twentieth WrestleMania, Christian earned his first singles victory at the Showcase of the Immortals, when he defeated former WWE Undisputed Champion and former tag team partner, Chris Jericho. This would also mark the start of a singles push and the beginning of the evolution into the 'Captain Charisma' gimmick. The match came about after Christian turned on his friend Jericho, who he'd previously held the Tag Team titles with in 2002, in the wake of Jericho's ongoing relationship with Trish Stratus. This came after Jericho won a bet, for one Canadian dollar, as to who could bed a diva first. Trish for Jericho and Lita for Christian. Christian gained the win after Trish Stratus, who was in her boyfriend Jericho's corner, "accidentally" struck Y2J with an elbow during the match. This allowed Christian to roll Jericho up for the pinfall. Post-match, Stratus turned on Jericho, furiously slapping him multiples times, which allowed Christian to hit his 'Unprettier' finisher on his foe. Christian and Trish then embraced in a kiss on the ramp, much to Jericho's chagrin. The pair would collide again over a year later in June 2005, at the Vengeance pay-per-view, losing in a triple threat match to John Cena, in Christian's first PPV match for the WWE Championship. This came shortly before Christian's departure for TNA.
