WWE Clash Of Champions 2016: 10 Things That Must Happen
8. T.J Perkins Holds Onto The WWE Cruiserweight Title
WWE have made a big song and dance about the fact that the Cruiserweight division is exclusive to Monday Night Raw. Coming out of the WWE Network's Cruiserweight Classic tournament, T.J Perkins stands tall as the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. At Clash Of Champions, he defends that belt against a true veteran.
Brian Kendrick beat Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann and Gran Metalik on Raw to establish himself as the top contender. This was an interesting choice, at 37 years of age Kendrick doesn't come across as exactly fresh in WWE. Still, he's more than capable of producing the goods against Perkins.
That seems to be what those in charge are hoping for, a solid match that will further establish Perkins as the man to beat amongst the Cruiserweights. Come Clash Of Champions, it's imperative that the champion retains his purple strap and moves on to a new challenge on the post-pay-per-view episode of Raw.
Kendrick comes across as a one-off challenger to cement Perkins as the top dog, which is fine. Upsetting the apple cart so quickly could have dire consequences.
