WWE Clash Of Champions 2016: 10 Things You May Have Missed

Did anyone else catch Kevin Owens channelling the spirit of D-Generation X?

When Triple H gate-crashed the scene on the August 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, he directly stopped both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins from winning the new WWE Universal Title. Instead, 'The Game' endorsed Kevin Owens, raising his hand after Owens had pinned Triple H's previous golden boy Rollins.

It seemed like KO was almost poised to become the new face of The Authority, but Triple H hasn't been seen on television since that surprising return. At Clash Of Champions, Owens defended the Universal Title against Rollins in the main event, and there was a less-than-subtle hint dropped that the champ is aligned with Triple H.

Some watching may not have caught Owens brief actions, and that's precisely why this article exists. Saving you the need to go back and watch the pay-per-view again, this list draws together all those little nuances that you may just have missed upon first watch of the show.

Cheating babyfaces, nods to Rey Mysterio, crotch chops and even Ouija boards are all here...

10. The Crowd Seemed Healthier During The Kickoff Than At Backlash

An estimated 7,000 fans were in attendance for WWE's Backlash pay-per-view on September 11. The show was a SmackDown Live exclusive, and the card was anchored down by matches like Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles and Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt. Sadly, hours before the card it became clear that Orton wouldn't be wrestling.

Other reports seemed to suggest that WWE were having a hard time shifting tickets for the event. Sparse crowds during the Kickoff portion of the show can't be considered something new, but there were some sizeable gaps at Backlash as Baron Corbin wrestled Apollo Crews. By contrast, Clash Of Champions looked much healthier.

As cameras panned over the Bankers Life Fieldhouse before Alicia Fox vs. Nia Jax, the crowd looked packed and plentiful. Could this be an indication that fans are more interested in what's happening on Monday Night Raw than SmackDown?

It's hard to argue with the numbers, Clash Of Champions had an eager crowd ready for the pay-per-view to start. That's something Backlash couldn't boast, which suggests WWE have work to do on the blue brand.
