WWE Clash Of Champions 2017: 8 Things WWE Got Right

Corey Graves and Byron Saxton deserve a shout out for their argumentative banter during KO/Zayn vs. Nakamura/Orton. Traditional babyface and heel dynamics were thrown out the window in favour of telling a more realistic tale; Graves repeated that Shane McMahon wanted his enemies out of WWE and Saxton was wary of Bryan favouring his old independent wrestling friends.

In the end, that's pretty much exactly what happened. A quick count from Bryan raises more questions than answers heading into the next episode of SmackDown, and that's a good thing. McMahon will be angry with his GM for spoiling his plans, and Bryan will be able to defend his decision due to Shane's own arrogant pursuit of Owens and Zayn.

Despite the in-ring confusion, it's an easy-to-understand story. WWE don't present enough of those nowadays, so they should be commended when they do. Bryan's snap decision to aid Zayn and Owens against McMahon's will opens a door for him to escape the boredom of being Shane's 'yes man'.

Pun intended.
