Earlier on Friday, MMAFighting journalist Ariel Helwani posted a 30 minute video where he conducted an interview with CM Punk in the Chicago home of Punk. There's a UFC show in Chicago on Saturday, so Punk opened his doors to speak candidly about a number of subjects. - Punk confirmed our story from earlier in the week that his contract is expiring in July. He didn't comment any further. He simply said that "everything is up in the air" so there's no telling if he could re-sign with WWE although it's likely that he will. - He also spoke about how he asked if he could induct The Ultimate Warrior in the Hall of Fame. While he admits that he didn't know him that well, he pointed out that they have spoken a lot. He made a good point that people have talked about Hogan doing the inducting although the belief is Hogan & Warrior don't get along too well. Hogan has said they're on better terms now. With Hogan, you never know what the truth really is. - Punk admitted he was critical of The Rock for his part time schedule last year. However, he's okay with Batista coming back because it's a full time deal that will see him back in WWE for two years. It's understandable why Punk felt that way. - Regarding Brock Lesnar, Punk thinks that he might have an urge to fight in the UFC again although it may never happen due to his WWE commitments. While Punk didn't talk about Brock's age, that would be a factor too. By the time Lesnar's WWE deal is done in the spring of 2015 he'll be 38 years old and it's unlikely he would head back to the UFC at that age. - The other interesting subject was regarding the much talked about backstage incident with Punk's girlfriend AJ Lee and NBC broadcaster Michelle Beadle from the Tribute to the Troops show in December. After Beadle make a joking comment to Punk backstage (apparently calling him "f**k face"), Punk's girlfriend AJ Lee jumped in her face and told her not to talk like that to Punk. Apparently Punk and Beadle are no longer friends. The lesson here? Don't make smartass comments to a wrestler when his "crazy chick" girlfirend might be nearby. - Finally, when Helwani brought up that UFC fighter Ronda Rousey called Punk "sexy" a few weeks ago. Punk had no comment about it, laughing it off and saying he'd get his ass kicked if he said something. Smart man. Punk comes off just like his character on television : calm, cool and grounded. It's worth a listen if you have 30 minutes to spare.
