WWE Crown Jewel 2025: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True
That's not the OTC. It's not the Tribal Chief. That's...that's...the BIG DOG.
Jokes are already doing the rounds about the various local start times for watching this weekend's Crown Jewel PLE. Folks in the UK, for example, are laughing about the switchover from typical midnight/1am starts to a rare 1pm kick off. 'I don't know if I'll be awake that early', said someone on X. Much merriment was had in the comments, but that's nothing compared to the 8am start some in the US have to look forward to.
Will WWE's latest supershow be full of similar merriment though, or will it be a nightmare-filled morning/afternoon that leaves everybody unsatisfied or (worse) aghast? As usual, Triple H has front loaded the card with plenty of star power, but there are still just 5 bouts scheduled for the show at time of writing - the last of those was added on Monday's Raw when Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed announced an ‘Australian Street Fight’.
Questions remain about the validity of these Crown Jewel championships on the men's and women's side, and about just how much gas John Cena has left in the tank as he ticks down towards retirement. Interactions between them on recent TV suggests that all isn't well in The Vision ranks right now either. All of this is worth keeping an eye trained on heading into Saturday.
There won't be any shock title changes to write home about in Australia, but WWE might still book a few swerves. They better have some surprises in store for Perth and the watching world too, because the last thing Hunter needs is another apathetic PLE. 'The Game' needs a hit.
Here's the worst of the worst that could happen at Crown Jewel. Be warned!
8. Tiffany Stratton’s Struggles Continue
2025 started off with a bang for Tiffy, but she hasn’t really done all that much since her incendiary (and sometimes real-life) feud with Charlotte Flair peaked at WrestleMania 41. This match vs. Stephanie Vaquer is a chance for Stratton to get back on form then. She has to take it, because it looks like her title reign is ticking down and she’s really struggling as a character. Honestly? Something is going badly wrong here.
Vaquer just feels like a much bigger deal than Tiffany going into Crown Jewel, which is remarkable when both of them are riding high atop respective divisions on Raw and SmackDown. This should be a monster battle between fresh faces dominating the women's scene, and yet it's Stephanie who's towering over Stratton at the moment.
Realistically, Vaquer will take the win and become the next Women's Crown Jewel Champ, but it's vitally important that Tiffany puts in a strong in-ring performance to remind everyone behind the scenes what she's capable of. Frankly, it's bizarre that Triple H appears to have forgotten just how talented she is. Some of the nonsense 'Tiffy Time' has been getting up to since Charlotte is...unacceptable, and it's rubbish that she's been pushed so far into the background on SmackDown.
Another so-so performance on Saturday could spell disaster for Tiffany in the immediate aftermath. Her title reign has been sagging for too long, and now she's under real threat of losing her shiny status as WWE's emerging female star of the future. How did we get here?!
A heel turn might be her best bet to grab 2026 by the balls.
