WWE CWC: 9 Most Awesome Spots From This Week’s Show (July 20)

2. Tozawa Fake-out

Everyone loves good chop-off, and with Akira Tozawa in action last night we were always going to be likely to be treated to one.

The slugfest in his meeting with Kenneth Johnson saw some pretty brutal strikes, and unsurprisingly it was the final one that had the biggest impact, although it wasn't even a chop, as such.

After trading some rasping blows to the chest, Tozawa recoiled as if about to hit another. But as Johnson braced himself, Tozawa held back at the last minute before switching his chop to a jab to the chin to knock Johnson off his feet.

The crowd responded with a nice pop and a round of applause, but like so many other spots on this list, this wasn’t just done for the sake of it. Tozawa’s composure and the calm, cool, collected aura he carried after flooring Johnson told us that this guy’s not just a heavy hitter, he’s also a very quick thinker.

It’s a rare combination and one that reinforces Tozawa’s tag as a true contender in this tournament.
