WWE Debate: Has Seth Rollins' Run As WWE Champion Worked?

There's little doubting that Seth Rollins reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion has been an experiment on the company's part. While the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan have gone before him, Seth represents the first of the new breed of independent stars to be given a major run as the company's 'top guy'. Or at leastl, the closest challenger to John Cena's throne. The Architect's reign continued in ever so slightly underwhelming fashion at Night of Champions this past Sunday as Seth came out on top with a smash and grab win over an injured Sting. Rollins reversed an attempted Scorpion Death Lock to roll-up the six-time WCW Champion after losing his United States belt to John Cena earlier in the evening.

The win was pretty indicative of the former Shield member's run as champion to date. Seth has been portrayed as the proverbial chicken sh*t heel that somehow manages to escape from the tightest of situations. This isn't taking anything away from his work in the ring - or on the mic for that matter - but he hasn't been booked well and could have easily lost all the legitimacy of his billing as champion numerous times. It seems the powers that be at WWE know Seth isn't naturally commanding as a heel, so they've had to attach heat seekers in the form of J and J Security and The Authority to him; while some of the situations they have booked him in to garner a negative response from the crowd have made him look nothing more than weak.
