As a pairing, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable have been one of NXT’s greatest success stories. They’ve risen from humble beginnings to become one of the most exciting tag teams in wrestling, particularly throughout their riveting three-match series with The Revival, and with their Tag Title reign over and done with, now is the perfect time to bring them to the main roster.

Jason Jordan has been in WWE Developmental for five years, yet never really looked like breaking out until mid-2015. Prior to connecting with Gable, Jordan was used mostly as a characterless enhancement talent throughout his tenure in FCW and NXT. He had a short-lived tag team with current Full Sail favourite Tye Dillinger, but they found little success together, and split-up in February 2015.

Jordan embarked on a search to find a new tag team partner a few months later. Though initially put-off by the over-enthusiastic Gable, Jordan reluctantly agreed to team with the rookie, and the two slowly bonded through a series of successful tag team outings.

They soon became one of NXT’s most beloved acts, and while both bring significant amateur wrestling pedigree to the table, they occupy completely different roles in the team. Gable is the undersized underdog with elite mat wrestling skills who plays the Ricky Morton role in absorbing most of the opposing team’s offence, while Jordan is the hyper-athletic suplex machine who makes the hot tag, clears the ring, and turns the tide.

There are a lot of strong tag teams on WWE’s roster, but American Alpha would stand-out immediately. Their skill, likeability, and chemistry puts them among the best tag teams in the world, and they’d be an instant hit on Raw or SmackDown.
