WWE Elimination Chamber 2026: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

Things are changing for Cody Rhodes. Sure, he still gets a largely positive response whenever he comes out for matches/segments, and fans do enjoy singing along to his evergreen entrance track, but scattered boos have popped up when he's pushed ahead of others. Hell, mega-heel Drew McIntyre got rapturous cheers for ending Cody's latest WWE Title reign in a '3 Stages Of Hell' match on the 9 January SmackDown.

People were chuffed to see Drew get his moment with the top belt, but some are less thrilled to imagine Rhodes regaining it from the Scot at 'Mania 42. This weekend, Cody stands out as the top star in a fairly random men's Elimination Chamber match. Bronson Reed's injury changed plans, so did Bron Breakker's, and that has opened doors for the likes of LA Knight and even young Je'Von Evans.

If it was up to this guy, he'd put Knight over and get to some sort of multi-man at WrestleMania for McIntyre's belt. WWE might decree that giving Rhodes the win then getting to that point anyway is the way to go. Fair enough, but they'd best be careful not to flatten both Chamber bouts to the point of monotony.

The structure doesn't feel anywhere near as fearsome as it once did, and the violence levels have been dulled. It's simply WWE's latest PLE full of finger-pointing as if to say, 'Look! This show is different from all the others and that's enough!'. Creative just wants to get through the night so they can focus full steam ahead on Las Vegas, that's clear.

Hmm. That could hurt the show's grandeur.
