At times, the much-hyped Asylum Match between Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho struggled to get going. Momentum proved an issue for the pair, they were visibly hindered by the awkward nature of the special stipulation bout, not to mention some challenging weapon choices.

Thankfully, the ending sequence more than made up for any other shortcomings. That's a testament to the skill of both performers, they managed to eventually lift proceedings and bring the audience along with them on their journey. Of course, they were also aided substantially by the ever-alluring sight of those glistening and devilish steel thumbtacks.

Teasing the bump a few times, it looked like Jericho and Ambrose might avoid it outright. Suddenly, Y2J went for a Code Breaker and was planted amidst the spiky horrors. Landing hard on his elbows and back, the Canadian was instantly shaking in pain.

There's no way to disguise that discomfort, but it did actually add to the match. This was a way for Ambrose and Jericho to get the blood use their gimmick battle needed without blading or contravening WWE's PG format.
