By far the loudest reactions of the night bell-to-bell, the Fatal-4-Way scrap for the WWE Intercontinental Title was a modern-day classic. Fans lapped the entire match up, almost everything was greeted favourably and numerous near falls were enhanced by those in attendance buying into the idea that they could end the match.

It was simply a great wrestling match, the kind that was predicted before The Miz, Kevin Owens, Cesaro and Sami Zayn had even stepped foot in the ring at Extreme Rules. Under-rated as champion, Miz once again stole a victory over his fierce rivals, and that's the lasting image here.

Celebrating with Maryse - who continually tried to aid her spouse - The Miz looked like the second coming of The Honky Tonk Man by virtue of his 'just and no more' title defence.

This has to be building to something, probably a Cesaro win that will feel satisfying due to the nature of Miz's wins over him to date. Battleground could be the destination for that, should both be involved in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match next month.
