WWE Extreme Rules 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

1. It All Feels…Less Than Extreme

That's a worry with Extreme Rules generally.

This pay-per-view already looks like it could be one of the most sanitised "Extreme" showings of all time. As silly as it was, even last year's event had somebody kinda/sorta/not really losing an eye, a table-laden bout and some lads fighting in a swamp as part of wrestling's obsession with cinematic stuff.

What does the 2021 version have to shout about? Reigns vs. Bálor getting the titular gimmick treatment despite already being an afterthought and playing support band for Brock Lesnar? Literally no other stipulations have been announced, and that's shameful considering Raw was 'go home' for some of the matches.

It's an ancient joke by now, but this pay-per-view could easily be titled WWE: Singles Matches or WWE: Exhibition Card. Or, how about WWE: Crown Jewel 2021 Kickoff? Come on now, give people a reason to care about it.
