WWE Extreme Rules 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen
Triple H should crown new WWE champs and book a sensational heel turn at Extreme Rules.
Raw has been a much easier watch since Triple H assumed full control of WWE creative over the summer, but Monday's 'go home' for Extreme Rules was a phoned-in effort. The show never really got going and seemed more intent on looking beyond Saturday's pay-per-view.
The card is still a banger though.
Bouts like Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle and Bayley vs. Bianca Belair could credibly headline the night, and it doesn't look like the complete absence of head boy Roman Reigns will kill the show's chances either. That speaks to the depth WWE has on its roster, to be honest - there probs won't be a bad match this weekend.
So, what needs to happen at Extreme Rules? The gimmick matches need to come through, for starters, but Triple H should also seriously think about crowning some new champions and tag-teaming one of those changes with a heel switch that'd end some SmackDown-related misery.
Elsewhere, one of WWE's midcard stars must get a momentum-boosting pay-per-view win to hang his hat on, and the company should make sure that this doesn't turn into an overbooked mess with too many unnecessary add-ons.

10. Any Extra Match Is On The Kickoff

Here's looking at you, Braun Strowman.
WWE might fancy giving the big returnee a squash match (or something) on Saturday. If so, and if he has to squish Chad Gable flat, then at least make sure it's not presented as something worthy of being on the main card; Extreme Rules looks sexy as is, and it defo doesn't need tacked-on bouts.
The same goes if Triple H wants to give Austin Theory something to do this weekend. Mr. MITB doesn't really have a place on the show, especially when Roman Reigns isn't present, but a quick five-six minute Kickoff match would be acceptable.
Keep the main show at six brawls though, please.
