Then: He's here to show the world, he's here to show the world. Come ooooooon! Back in 2018, Dolph Ziggler was perpetually stuck in a non-stop upper midcard role. Sometimes, WWE's creative team took him seriously, and sometimes they didn't. Everyone knew they'd get a good match out of Dolph, but his chances of rocketing back up the cards towards main events had faded.

In hindsight, it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity that somebody as skilled as Ziggler only worked a shade over 20 minutes in the Greatest Royal Rumble. He easily could've matched Daniel Bryan's hour plus, but it wasn't to be. Kurt Angle was given the nod to eliminate Dolph, but fans would have to wait until Crown Jewel in November to see them go one on one in a singles bout.

By April 2018, Ziggler was pretty much one of WWE's 'for good match break glass' options and little more. His frustrations would grow due to that.

Now: Dolph eventually left the company in 2023 and has since had a wonderful time working for everyone from TNA to New Japan. It's in Total Non-Stop Action (from non-stop upper midcard role to this!) that he's found most success. There, the redubbed Nic Nemeth has enjoyed reigns as TNA World and TNA Tag-Team Champs.

He's had a thoroughly magical time under the Impact banner. At 45, Nemeth is still evergreen between the ropes. He could make a WWE comeback someday for one more run and a Hall Of Fame induction, but that wouldn't necessarily define his legacy. He's another with nothing to prove.
