Then: Sin Cara II held that gimmick longer than his predecessor despite being the second man under the guise. It became quickly apparent that Luis Urive/Mistico wasn't cut out for WWE life - he was bombing badly, so the writers installed an offshoot who ended up assuming the role full time. It was messy, but they got there in the end and it worked out for everybody.

Cara II continued under the mask until leaving in 2019. By then, he felt underappreciated and like WWE should be doing more with him. At the previous year's Greatest Royal Rumble, Sin's stint lasted less than 90 seconds. Looking back on things with a clear head, he was right to be miffed at what was going on. After all, he'd salvaged something from the ashes of the Sin Cara persona.

That didn't earn him much credit in the bank of Vince McMahon though. He was tossed out rapid style by Dolph Ziggler.

Now: After leaving the WWE nest, Sin Cara renamed himself Cinta de Oro and worked extensively in Mexico. Then, in 2023, he formed his own promotion (the creatively titled Cinta De Oro Promotions) and has wrestled a scatter of matches under his own watch since.

Oro's exit from WWE and the circumstances surrounding it suggest he won't be back anytime soon. There's probably no real bad blood between he and higher ups like Triple H, but the ex-Sin Cara seems happy enough doing his own thing. If he did make a comeback, then he'd likely struggle to outshine other masked stars like Penta or Rey Fenix on TV anyway.
