Then: Big Braun Strowman (unrelated to Big Bronson Reed and the Big Boss Man, for the record) was the main man come WWE's Greatest Royal Rumble experiment. He was the worker hand picked by Vince McMahon to hoist the brand spanking new green title belt aloft. Then, Braun handed it to some WWE staffer behind the scenes following a quick photoshoot and it was never really seen again.

Lord only knows why they even bothered commissioning a title when they planned to do exactly nothing with it. It'd be a bit of a surprise if that thing even made it back to the United States.

Strowman made history at the GRR by eliminating no less than 13 men from the match. That topped the 12 Roman Reigns had managed during the 30-man 2014 Rumble. Brock Lesnar would equal that number in 2020, but he wouldn't better it. If only he'd eliminated Matt Riddle (like he probably wanted to) instead of King Corbin doing it for him, huh?

Now: Braun's importance to WWE diminished before his 2021 release, but he did make a return under Triple H in 2022. The second time around, Strowman was deployed as more of a star-maker rather than as a wrecking ball giant others had to make look good. His final contribution to the cause was putting Jacob Fatu over in some seriously hard-hitting bouts.

Check out their fun 'Last Man Standing' war from the 4 April 2025 Smackdown if you've never had the pleasure. It's well worth watching, and was even featured in WWE Unreal on Netflix.

Since leaving WWE again over the summer, Braun has moved into TV and has a food-based series on USA Network.
