WWE Greatest Royal Rumble Wrestlers - Where Are They Now?

11. Dan Matha

Dan Matha Greatest Royal Rumble
WWE

Entry: #40

Time: 02:01

Then: Our Dan here might be one of the most out there Rumble entrants of all time, because it's shockingly difficult to find much about him other than, 'Oh, him. Well he erm...made a bunch of NXT house show appearances and was in the Greatest Royal Rumble'. That's practically it! Matha did, however, get to wrestle Drew McIntyre a number of times on house shows.

That's something, at least.

For the GRR, Dan came out as #40 in the match and lasted just 2 minutes before he was sacrificed to the record breaking Braun Strowman. Being frank, that might've been the only reason WWE took the NXT hopeful out to Saudi Arabia at all. He wasn't even featured on the third brand's TV show at the time, so no-one in attendance really knew who he was.

Now: There's no record of Matha wrestling anywhere after he left WWE in 2020, at least not until a 2024 independent show in Omaha, Nebraska. There, he beat Jameson McGregor. Someday (this might already be the case), Danny boy will become the answer to an obscure WWE trivia question.

Ah well, he can always say he was in the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble eh? Not everyone on the indy circuit can boast about something like that. Sure, Matha was out there for 2 whole minutes and didn't even threaten to eliminate any of the other entrants, but...but...he was involved.

He was one of only 4 NXT workers to appear in the bout. Tucker, Roderick Strong and Babatunde were the others. Now that's a Survivor Series team.
