When the curtain came down on WWE's latest pay-per-view, a few more Hell In A Cell matches went into the history books. In total, the company have presented 36 of the bouts since the match type was created way back in 1997. Roman Reigns vs. Rusev for the WWE United States Title was number 34, although the match could claim one first.

Most regularly, Hell In A Cell encounters have been contested over the WWE World Title. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks marked the first time that the Women's Title has been involved in the match, and those girls weren't alone in that respect. Reigns vs. Rusev was the very first time that the United States gold has been up for grabs inside Hell In A Cell.

Largely, this is due to the fact that the title is a secondary prize in WWE. Due to the recent brand split though, the United States Title has been elevated, meaning it was ripe for use inside the structure for Raw's writing team.

Michael Cole pointed out this United States Title fact as Roman Reigns made his entrance.
