WWE Invasion 2001: 5 Awesome Things And 5 That Sucked

And 5 Things That Sucked...

5. The Midcard Could Have Been A Lot Better

While there will be some points made about some of the specific matches, if you look at the card on paper you have to wonder why WWE chose some of the people they did to be on the show. On the WCW/ECW side of things, they were limited with who they could choose. The big names that should have been there like Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall weren't there yet. Instead it was a bunch of midcarders along with some more major names like Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page. The Dudley Boys were on their team, but a lot of fans thought of them as WWE guys by that point. If you watched WCW you knew who guys like Sean O'Haire and Shawn Stasiak were, but they weren't there that long. The WWE guys that were in midcard matches weren't as strong as they could have been. Part of it was because they had to put five guys in the main event, but they could have done better than the likes of X-Pac, Tajiri, Big Show, Billy Gunn, Albert and guys like that. The show was pretty good for the most part, but it just seems like the midcard could have been booked better.
