WWE Legend Says Vince McMahon Was His "Favourite Commentator"
Forget owner, boss or authority figure - Vince McMahon was this WWE icon's fave commentator.
WWE legend Bret Hart put over Vince McMahon as his personal favourite commentator during a Q&A session with the Asylum Wrestling Store on Facebook.
Hart recalled sitting down to watch his timeless SummerSlam 1992 match with Davey Boy Smith after the fact, and said he was in awe of how Vince's "raspy" voice added so much to the in-ring action; Bret did say that McMahon was a "great colour commentator", but it's probably more accurate to say that Vince was play-by-play.
Colourful play-by-play, but play-by-play nonetheless.
The 'Hitman' also called McMahon a "great salesman". He'd even rank Vince above other faces like Jim Ross and Gorilla Monsoon, which is huge considering both are regularly cited as the best wrestling announcers ever.
Bret preferred McMahon's style, but did admit that he's biased because the real-life WWE boss called many of his biggest moments before becoming more of an authority figure on TV.
Bobby Heenan, Jesse Ventura and even Bret's old rival Jerry Lawler got praise from Hart too. He can't look past Vince when it comes to commentators though - the WWE figurehead is his favourite by a long way.
