WWE Made A HUGE Last-Minute Booking Change To Wrestlepalooza (WWE News)

WWE Wrestlepalooza nearly went very differently.

With WWE Wrestlepalooza now in the books, fans got to witness Brock Lesnar once again decimate John Cena in dominant fashion as Big Match John's WWE career continues to wind down. However, that match could've gone very differently.

Via BodySlam.net, the finish of Lesnar vs. Cena was actually changed on the morning of Wrestlepalooza, as John Cena was originally due to get the win. Of course, by the time all was said and done, Brock was left standing tall, putting Cena away in less than nine minutes after hitting him with, amongst other things, six F-5s in a display that mirrored these long-time rivals' match at SummerSlam 2014.

The Wrestlepalooza outcome certainly reiterates Brock Lesnar's position as a force of a nature, a major player, and suggests that big things are ahead for the Beast Incarnate. As for John Cena, it could well be that he finds himself chasing a rematch with Lesnar at some point during these final few months of his legendary career, or it could even be that the pair find themselves on opposing teams in a WarGames bout when Survivor Series rolls around in November.

Elsewhere at Wrestlepalooza, the PLE's main event saw Cody Rhodes defeat Drew McIntyre to retain the WWE Championship. Per BodySlam.net, though, this is another match that could've played out a little differently, with both Rhodes and McIntyre pitching for the Scottish Warrior to win the WWE Title due to Randy Orton accidentally costing Cody the match. That would've seen the American Nightmare then chase McIntyre to get his WWE Championship back, eventually leading to Orton turning on Rhodes and setting up a rivalry between the two. Ultimately, the creative team decided to move forward with Cody Rhodes defeating Drew McIntyre, with Randy completely absent from Wrestlepalooza.
