WWE Money in the Bank 2012: Preview and Predictions

Money in the Bank is one of the most exciting WWE PPV's of the year, but is 2012 the biggest yet? With 2 great ladder matches and a strong WWE championship match the event is likely to be worth shelling out your hard earned cash for, so reach deep in to those pockets and get watching. Here's our predictions and preview ahead of Sunday night's event; Pre-Show: Kofi Kingston & R-Truth Vs Hunico & Camacho - WWE Tag Team Championship Match So, new WWE Tag Team Champions? Are you kidding? On a pre-show?! Actually, that's about as valuable as the tag team titles are these days, contrary to what people tell you Kingston and Truth haven't brought any real value to the belts as they seldom defend them against credible opponents, and Truth has been frequently replaced on tour due to injury. If the dirt sheets are to be believed then the team of Darren Young and Titus O'Neil are the next in line for a push with the gold so expect interference from them. Despite this the champs will retain - no questions asked. Damien Sandow Vs Tyson Kidd Vs Christian Vs Santino Vs Tensai Vs Cod y Rhodes Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Sin Cara - Smackdown World Title Contract MITB Ladder Match The Smackdown ladder match is likely to be the highlight of the night, but given the lack of 'main event' talent involved it will most likely open the card. It's an odd mix for this one, with several high flyers involved and then the power of Tensai but this will give WWE the chance to get the former Prince Albert over a little more with the crowd as he destroys everyone in his path. That doesn't mean he'll win though - heck no. That honour will go to either Dolph Ziggler OR Cody Rhodes. The problem is we can't decide just who will win. Breakout star of the match will undoubtedly be Tyson Kidd, and we're hopeful this will lead to him being better featured on one of the two main shows rather than his limited appearances on NXT and Superstars. Big Show Vs John Cena Vs Kane Vs Chris Jericho - RAW MITB Ladder Match When this match was first announced it seemed like other former champions might be added to the lineup but as of this writing it remains a 4 way match with only 1 obvious winner - John Cena. Let's face it, Jericho has a short shelf life, Kane isn't getting another run with the gold and Big Show can lose this without looking weak. Hell, he may even end up in a feud with Y2J or (shudder) another feud with Kane afterwards? This simply has to be a Cena victory where he then goes on to cash in the title match at Night of Champions (which takes place in his hometown of Boston in September), hangs onto the gold up to Wrestlemania and faces the 2013 Royal Rumble winner - The Rock. Sheamus (c) Vs Alberto Del Rio - World Heavyweight Championship Match Why we're expected to invest in Del Rio again is beyond me. We had high hopes for him when he broke onto the scene but he's only proved to be an injury prone liability which leads us to the question 'Will WWE ever give him the championship again'? Sheamus still needs a big win against a big opponent to give his latest title run any credibility. Sure he's held the gold since 'Mania, which is no easy task in the current WWE climate but who's he actually beaten? Give him Big Show, give him Triple H (they have history), heck give the guy Booker T if it help legitimise his reign. Either way we can't see any other result except Del Rio staring at the lights come the final bell. CM Punk (c) Vs Baniel Bryan w/ AJ Lee as Referee - WWE Championship Match The reason we didn't buy the last WWE PPV is because they saw fit to turn Daniel Bryan Vs CM Punk 2 into a triple threat match. Sure, Kane was impressive and the match wasn't as bad as it could have been (at all in fact) but it spoilt things for those of us hungry to watch the 2 best wrestlers in the company go at it again. This time the WWE has stuck AJ in the mix, but damn it you've got to admit she's been brilliant! It's anyone's guess where they're going with her involvement - unless Punk and AJ will be a modern day alternative to Macho Man and Elizabeth? Hopefully AJ wont be too involved in the actual match even if she has to be involved with the ending. If anyone were to take the belt from Punk we'd want it to be D-Bryan, and how many times can creative change their minds before they go with this result? That being said, Punk Vs Cena at Summerslam is much more marketable and also much more likely. For that reason we expect AJ to swerve Bryan and help Punk get the victory again. Bryan can then move on to another feud while Punk warms up for Summerslam - hopefully WWE will return to this feud over and over again.
