3. Defeat For The New Day

Having only just arrived on SmackDown a few weeks back during the Superstar Shakeup, the New Day already find themselves in contention for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

As one of the more over acts in the company, you can see why they’ve been afforded that shot. However, that doesn’t change the fact that it pretty much undermines the rest of the entire division that these guys have simply waltzed onto the brand and immediately been pushed to the top of the pile. Plus, the fact that they’re former Raw stars could easily be interpreted as further reiteration of SmackDown’s standing as the inferior brand.

So with all that in mind, it would come as a bit of a blow to the perception of the SmackDown tag division if the New Day were to simply defeat the Usos at the first time of asking at Money in the Bank. Instead, the Usos really should be retaining the belts, not least because they’ve only had three successful title defenses since becoming champions way back in the lead-up to WrestleMania.
