WWE Night Of Champions: 10 Awesome Moments

7. Ziggler & Rusev Exceed Expectations

The whole affair involving Dolph Ziggler, Rusev, Lana and Summer Rae has become a little convoluted. Fans don't seem as interested as they were before in the storyline, and the creative team themselves appear to have lost some faith in the saga. There was a real chance that Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler at Night Of Champions could have been a let down. Incredibly, both men had perhaps their most hard-fought battle to date. Credit must go to Ziggler and Rusev. Thus far, their big angle has been flagging terribly, but they didn't let that impact on the in-ring quality of their actual match. That deserves plaudits, because the storyline is clearly failing at the moment. The finish did have Summer Rae's involvement, but it didn't derail the hard work both guys had done during the bout. For what it was, a mid card scrap, the match was fine. There was a sense that Ziggler and Rusev went above and beyond themselves to try and make amends for the poor quality of the soap opera drama surrounding the match.
