With NXT Deadline now in the record books, WWE's third brand has announced its first special for 2023.

At Deadline, it was announced that NXT New Year's Evil will take place on Tuesday 10 January, with that show to be the third ever outing for the New Year's Evil name. Previously, the 2021 edition of this special saw Finn Balor retain the NXT Title against Kyle O'Reilly, with last year's New Year's Evil being headlined by Bron Breakker defeating Tommaso Ciampa to win the brand's biggest prize.

Of course, no matches have been announced as of yet for New Year's Evil, but NXT has a whole month of TV to build to that 10 January date.

Elsewhere, the first NXT Premium Live Event of 2023 was recently confirmed, with NXT Vengeance Day to emanate from Charlotte, North Carolina's Spectrum Center on Saturday 4 February.

With last night's Deadline event seeing Roxanne Perez and Grayson Waller win their respective Iron Survivor Challenge matches, it remains to be seen if New Year's Evil will see either Perez or Waller get their shots at Mandy Rose's NXT Women's Championship and Bron Breakker's NXT Title.
