NXT favourite Sarray is no longer employed by WWE.

In a Tokyo Sports article (as picked up on by eWrestling.com), Sarray and WWE parted ways earlier this year when the talent's contract expired. This split is said to have been an amicable one, which presumably leaves the door open for the parties to work together again in the future should the opportunity present itself.

The 26-year-old is already confirmed to return to action in Japan on 16 May.

Having made her debut in 2011 at the age of just 16 under the name Sareee, the Tokyo native made her mark in World Woman-Pro Wrestling Diana and Seadlinng prior to signing with WWE in 2020. Unfortunately, things never really got going for the two-time Diana World Champion in WWE, with her official arrival in the company delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite it being announced in February 2020 that Saree had signed with WWE, it wouldn't be until March 2021 that the star - as Sarray - appeared on NXT programming for the first time. As 2021 rolled into 2022, Sarray was rebranded as what was essentially a schoolgirl who used the power of an ancient medallion to transform into a wrestler.

Sarray's final match under the WWE banner came on the 2 August 2022 episode of NXT, where she lost against then-NXT Women's Champion Mandy Rose.
