Of course, no amount of hyperbole or dazzling lights can make up for wrestlers who can't live up to the build when the bell rings. At NXT TakeOver Brooklyn II, Shinsuke Nakamura was facing Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship. Ask anyone who has watched these men for years, they will tell you that nothing less than greatness was to be expected.

There will be those who found it rather difficult to become invested in some of the action Nakamura and Joe presented. This was no ordinary WWE main event, where brawling and action outside of the ring often take paramount over strikes and submissions, this was strong style.

More appreciated in Japan, this style of stiff strikes and a slower pace (building to a thumping crescendo) worked in this main event. Joe and Nakamura were pasting one another with kicks, chops and forearms so much that even Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks at ringside had their eyes opening wide.

Joe vs. Nakamura represents a refreshing revolution in WWE, there was a time when a main event such as this would never fall under the promotion's banner.
