WWE NXT's 31 Wrestlers - Ranked From Worst To Best
13. Baron Corbin
Pros:
1. Fantastic look
2. Former NFL offensive lineman
3. Extensive boxing background
Cons:
1. Looks lost when matches go longer than two minutes
2. Extremely limited moveset
3. No one seems to be sure what his character is
NXT's Lone Wolf is a near 7-footer with a unique look and an undeniable presence, but he hasn't really figured out how to wrestle a match yet. He can always turn in a fun squash, and the fans at Full Sail enjoy counting the seconds that these one-sides encounters invariably last, but they quickly sour on him in competitive matches.
Another problem of Corbin's: his character is something of a garbled mess. He doesn't cut live promos, but in pretaped segments he has been implied to be a biker, a werewolf, and a half-baked Nietzchean philosopher. On commentary, Corey Graves keeps mentioning that he and Corbin move in the same circles, and that Corbin is bad news. Eventually, we're going to need to see some of that, and also some non-punching offense might be nice.
Seriously, when Corbin wrestled Rhyno at Unstoppable, he bounced off the ropes, built up a head of steam, stopped, and punched the Man-Beast in the face.
Final rating: ***1/4
