As a spectacle, Roman Reigns vs. Triple H was a match that seemed more interesting on paper. 'The Game' is not as quick as he used to be, and this meant portions of his 27 minute match against Reigns at WrestleMania felt a little dull. AJ Styles is a different specimen, he can fly around at will.

That aided his match with Reigns at Payback, the pair had a much better main event than 'Mania had featured. By the time that match rolled around, the show had arguably overstayed its welcome, and people were eager to see things wrapped up. For Styles vs. Reigns, fans were looking forward to the main event.

Overall, the Payback match was miles better than the featured bout at WrestleMania. On one hand, that's a shame, because 'Mania is WWE's biggest show and should probably have the best matches, but Payback proved that's not always the case.

Had WWE booked the same plot fans witnessed at Payback with Reigns and Triple H, it would have dragged on and on. With Styles, it didn't hurt the match.
