It's been said before, but it's worth repeating, Chris Jericho does not require wins nowadays.

His current character is one with a legendary vibe, Jericho is over whether he emerges victorious or stares at the lights for an opponent. That's especially true when his foe needs the win much more than he does.

Dean Ambrose lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, he really needed to pick up some steam and come out of Payback looking good. Another loss could have affected him badly.

Ambrose is a popular babyface that fans want to believe in, constantly beating him wouldn't do anyone any favours.

The match was slower-paced than many probably imagined, but it leaves space for a rematch at Extreme Rules to be more frenetic. Keeping things slower made sense at Payback, these men were said to be even going in.

Keep in mind that wasn't the case at 'Mania against Lesnar, Ambrose was the underdog fighting uphill. Opposite Jericho, he should have a greater chance of coming out on top.

That's how it played out, and it was satisfying to see.
