WWE Planning "Ambitious" Pre-Taping Schedule Ahead Of WrestleMania 36?
WWE is about to tape HUGE chunks of TV in advance, including 'Mania matches.
The upcoming weeks will see WWE tape the vast majority of their Raw, SmackDown, and potentially WrestleMania 36 content in advance.
This is according to a new report from John Pollock of POST Wrestling. He talks about an "ambitious" schedule that should see the promotion covered all the way up to 'Mania and perhaps even beyond, with the promotion considering taping content for 'The Show of Shows' in advance.
Per Pollock, WWE plans on pre-taping the 23 and 30 March episodes of Raw and 27 March and 3 April episodes of SmackDown over the coming week, covering what remains of the Road to WrestleMania. Furthermore, a source has informed him that both nights of 'Mania could feature pretaped matches.
Taping WrestleMania bits and pieces in advance has been discussed a lot over the past few days. It's a double-edged sword. The risk of spoilers is minimised by the lack of fans in the empty Performance Center, though taped shows generally lack the buzz of a live event. Does "buzz" even exist when there isn't a crowd, though?
This is uncharted territory for the promotion and the wider wrestling world. Let's see how it pans out.
