WWE Planning Second NXT Show
Triple H reportedly working on NXT 'Minor Leagues' show.
WWE are in the process of planning of a second NXT show, according to a report from Wrestling Inc.
NXT honcho Paul 'Triple H' Levesque is said to have created a think-tank discussing the new programming, which will complement the current USA Network output as a 'minor leagues' variant.
The concept was described to Wrestling Inc.'s Raj Giri as "an NXT for NXT", focusing on budding talent aiming to earn a spot on the 'main' NXT roster. The driving motivation behind the show is to give ring time to rookie members of the Performance Center, something which has largely been excluded from their training since NXT moved from the Network to weekly television. The problem has been exacerbated by the pandemic cancelling the PC's Florida house show loop.
Levesque is understood to have handed the reins to former EVOLVE man Gabe Sapolsky, with the rest of the team comprised of agents and writers likewise looking for television experience.
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer confirmed that a second NXT show has been on the cards for a while, though noted nothing is official as yet. It's believed that a second programme will launch on the WWE Network, and that any tentative plans for an early-2021 start date have been postponed owing to the pandemic.
