It certainly deserves high marks for a variety of factors. Most importantly, this was a one-on-one matchup without any real gimmicks or crutches to help it (boxing, outside interference), it was just an ex-football player against the Beast from the East. And Taylor held his own in an entertaining match. But, what was the real impact of the match? If you look at the other celebrity matches, they didn't really add much longterm. Maybe they added some intrigue to WrestleMania, maybe WWE got a little more mainstream press coverage, but beyond that, what did these eight celebrity match accomplish? This match proved that LT could step into the ring and put on a really good performance.
