WWE: Ranking The Rock's 10 WrestleMania Matches - From Worst To Best
8. WrestleMania 29 vs. John Cena
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL9Qbcu6FQY This is the Rock's last wrestling match on record. Could he come back for more in the future? It could happen. For now, it's his last match. He walked into the match as the WWE Champion as he faced John Cena in a rematch from their non-title match at WrestleMania 28 a year earlier. Everybody knew the outcome of this one going in. The match went 24 minutes, which is probably a bit too long because they looked like they could have cut 10 minutes and had a better showing. I thought they spent too much time kicking out of finishing moves. Once in a while is fine, but when you do it as many times as they did it that can hurt the match. It was too much of hit your finisher, kick out and repeat that formula. I would have liked to see them work on body parts or at least sell moves a bit. We found out after the match that The Rock had a torn abductor (groin) and abdomen, so I give him credit for working through it. While I'm sure he wouldn't want to quit in a big setting like that, it would have been understandable. As you probably know, Cena left with the WWE Title and the respect of The Rock. It was a solid ending to their two year rivalry, but the match was not as good as they probably hoped for. It also wasn't the Match of the Year like WWE fans voted in the Slammy Awards, but I'm sure WWE is pleased that it won too.
