WWE Raw: 10 Things You May Have Missed (19th Sept)

5. Continuity In The Women's Tag Match

If urgency on commentary is great to see, so is continuity during an actual match itself. A round of applause must be aimed towards the quartet of women involved in Raw's tag-team affair. In particular, the trio of Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, and Charlotte were truly into their story, putting across events that have come before.

At SummerSlam, viewers were told that Charlotte had injured Sasha's back. Due to this, Banks has her mid-section taped and bandaged up. Homing in on this weakness, the heels repeatedly smashed Sasha in the back and ribs, looking to exploit the prior damage. Simple but effective storytelling is usually the best.

All too often, a performer will ignore an injury in order to show off some big moves and spots. Sasha refrained (for the most part) from doing this on Raw, and slowed with continued emphasis of attack from opponents being placed on her back.

One key spot in the match came when Charlotte wrapped Banks around the ring post, and Brooke shouted that she'd never beat the Raw Women's Champion with her injuries. Easily missed, but entirely satisfying.
